Started a "rant" about the IHRA rules infractions I've seen that apply to roll bars, fire suits, helmets, fuel tanks/cells, floors, window nets, firewalls, trunk mounted batteries and a few more minor things but realized it would just be more finger wagging from an old Tech Inspector. Sure glad I'm not checking for that stuff anymore - doing Tech Inspection is a great way to get people pissed off at you for trying to keep them safe. I'm just not cut out to be the bad guy. When I first started at Tech I would even go to a racer's house and try to guide him through all the safety stuff. EVERYONE who drag races needs a rulebook - period. Everything is in there from safety equipment to roll cage specs to staging procedures, infractions, bye runs, lane choice, etc. Why have eliminations tied up due to a dispute that would not have happened in the first place if everyone understood the rules? Don't have a rulebook? Here's a link to the more important rules that apply to the Maritime tracks: docs.google.com/View?docID=dfcbfsv2_0gtczdhdn&revision=_latest That link is also on this message board's home page. It's a Google Document so you can even download it.

how bout a fast class pro tree style either .400 or .500..alot of the cars in the superpro class react very well to this format and ur not on the converter very long either bump this, great idea thats overlooked by many lots of talk about changing what we have, but never about adding something new.... +1 to protree and or super class +1 to cars having certain specs to run certain et's Justin C

The time breaks should NOT be changed at all . The 11.50 is NOT annoying to the rest of us. You got the same amount racers from when it was 11.99 on the bump. Sixpack don't you have a trophy shelf too build or something. Question,Sixpack, did you win that trophy using your BRAKEs, (yes). As far as the amount of cars in a class ,its 6 rounds for 32 cars up to 64 cars, does anyone know how a ladder works? Lets move the time break back to 11.99 where it should have stayed

First off - Travis - those pictures are awesome!! Those poor springs - as if you don't beat them enough!! LOL
And - Ahhh Soo - the other side (with more voting potential) has finally spoken!! I can totally see that point of view - it really sucks being the red light first guy!!
As seen statistically - there are more super pro cars than others. As will be the trend due to our go faster philosophy.
I suggest we make 2 new classes called "Super Duper Pro" at 9.99-8.00 and "Super Duper Duper Pro" at 8.99-7.00 this would limit Super Pro to 11.49-10.00.
I think at Super Duper Duper pro - everyone should have to have a pee test before every run (to ensure no tylenol was consumed between rounds) and at least one pass blindfolded to ensure they are capable of Super Duper Duper Pro speeds.
For those faster than 7.00 - I can't even make any suggestions, oh wait - throttle stops!!
Edit: Oh yeah, those names are free to use if you want - I now have a patent on Super Pro, S/Pro, Pro. So watch how you use my property.. LOL

It's good to see a lot of people share similar thinking about restructuring the classes. And a lot of good points being made. So far these seem to have the best chances ? Sport Compact....( any ET ) Sportsman...........(12.00 & slower ) - foot brake Pro.......................( 10.00 - 13.49 ) - no box S/pro....................( 11.49 & faster ) - box Bike/sled........... no changes. J/Dr................... no changes. P/S...........The (Trophy class) & (Fast class) are good suggestions too. But that might be asking for too many classes? But with enough interest and persuasion anything is possible, all you need to do is keep asking for it. ;D I am liking this time set up . One thing that would really change things and would eliminate the crosstalk foolishness..... Heads up indexed classes. Similer classes to the all out or noonan nationals classes.

Lets move the time break back to 11.99 where it should have stayed In my opinion if you want to run with the big boys then do so. All this is about is that there is alot of 11.00 and 10.80 cars that run in pro and have to SANDBAG and play BRAKE PEDAL MOMBA at the stripe. IF the brake is lowered then it relieves some of the pressure of SANBAGGIN' because then they can DIAL their cars for what they can actually run and not have to play the GAME. They DON"T want to go in S/P as then they are being chased and less chance of going rounds as then the ROLE is REVERSED on THEM. This is a quote from Rhogan S/Pro51 This year teching of vehicles at every track seem to be a little over looked, from my experience this year at every track i seen quite a few vehicles running high ETs without proper roll bars, fire suits, helmets etc. This is something i believed should be stepped up quite a bit for next year, no one wants to see anyone getting hurt at our events from having the improper car safety and personal equip. I AGREE with the fact that NO ONE wants to see anyone hurt. But I PERSONALLY take an offence to the statement TECH is being OVERLOOKED at all tracks, I can tell you that it is # 1 at GREENFIELD DRAGWAY because it has to be, I have been called every name in the book twice and believe me TECH is the most unforgiving job at any race track as I have TECHED more then just Drag Race vehicles over the years and I have been teching at Greenfield Dragway sence the first weekend our track opened and intend on continuing with this as long as they will have me. So I guess that CAPE BRETON has a NEW TECH guy for 2012 season as by your statement Mr. Hogan you must intend on getting HANDS ON to help with the safety at your Home track. No problem Gerard, I'm always good for a laugh!! I'm trying to figure out where you'll put the sandbags on your ride to be top dog in CB for Super Duper pro next year!! And just because you have the runout, doesn't mean you can use a lead parachute!!

And I would have thought the mauling Jim Green put on everybody at the all-out race would have told people how bad an idea those index classes are especially with a Pro tree
