Have not talked to too many people about this but no one seems to bothered. Did speak to one person who got pushed into Pro and they had no issue with the idea, thought it was a good idea. Not sure where the bitterness against Travis comes from, all he did was ask the question and give his opinion. Before the AGM he was going to S/P to get away from the finish line games. Not sure what his plan is now. No one seemed to want to ask the question at the AGM, you have never been shy Bill why didn't you bring it up if it was such an issue for you? The issue has been on the table for some years, not a surprise to me that it happened.

I find it funny as hell myself, all that has been done is to allow the 10.50 guys to come and play lol and the guys that was baggin' will be bagged LMAO it's bracket racing people no matter what you change you will never stop the SANDBAGGIN' that's what it boils down too and run it out the back door is what they want to do well that's great just remember before when you were 11.20 ish on a good day the other guy was 10.60 ish so now the pregnant doging will begin all over again because" that guy shouldn't be here" but remember YOU WANTED IT SO DEAL WITH IT !!!!!
Pro was addressed but myself the Sportmans class needed a new break more than Pro, just because someone didn't want to offically play with the BOX CARS who's fault is that, you race them most of the time in Gamblers races , but hey it's done so be it, but remember now you have to step up with safety as well, now you need to pass tech to 11.00, so buy some belts, jackets and add the roll bar people because it is time to pay to play lol.

i was in favor of the time change for pro (11.00) to allow a bit of overlap at the top and suggested to both (rwp, mdp) terry, kevin and earle to consider the change. giving a half second coundn't be a bad thing now could it. at the time thats where most of the vetran players are and really still are. is that the big problem? this might let someone from s/p to invade the pro class and pick up a winners payout. it would be good for the track to have a couple extra entrys (double dipping) in both pro and s/p. as long as the cars do not have electronics i don't see the issue at all. and my version of electronics includes trans brakes !!.
i was also in favor of moving the time break for street (13.00) as well to give another half second at the top as a lot of factory cars (street ) are faster and some of the 4 cylinder import guys might like to start there instead of pro right off the bat. and yes that could mean some of the pro guys could drop down to compete in 2 classes there as well. double dipping there too.
can't really understand why some would be so against a change to proceed forward with a sport that is moving forward faster as are the times the cars are running.
let me quote shrek from the movie; ........... change is good donkey............

I guess the old saying "Be careful what you ask for" came to haunt me this time. . Before the AGM I decided to give up on this topic and just go ahead and order the parts to make my car go faster to get away from the annoying ET break. Now the annoying ET break appears to be following me. What we really needed was an overlap system between the classes ! To better explain the "annoying" part of any ET break (without an overlap): In the spring and fall cars typically run faster than they do during the heat of the summer. ie: My car ran 11.26 in Cape Breton in Sept on that cold windy weekend of the Team race. The very next weekend in Greenfield it was hot & humid and my car would not go any faster than 11.60's. That puts many folks like myself into two different classes through out the season. So they are forced to pick the slower class and do the old Sand Bagging trick for 1/2 the season. The ironic thing is my new combination will probably put me in the 10.80's to 11.20's through out next season. So the new 10.99 time break puts me back in the same situation I was in before. So it looks like some fresh brake pads will be on my Santa's list. ;D ;D ;D Billy Billy Billy, after all these years of racing I thought you would have known that consistency is what wins races and not ET. Why, of all people, are you upset about racing against an 11.00 second car ? Just curious. If the choice had of been up to me, I would have changed Street to 12.00 and slower. Pro would be 13.49-10.50 and S/pro would stay the same as it was at 11.49 and faster. I would think it's not to late for the track owners to regroup and make further adjustments before the 2012 season starts, if they choose to do so thats ok. If not, Oh well ! I'll just go racing anyway.

Why was the decision made behind closed doors?
Shouldn't the decision have been made at the general meeting where all the f the ADRA members in attendance could vote?

Just a simple question,do ALL cars in pro class now have to have updated belts and drivers have safety jackets or just cars running 11 and under ?

I assume the ADRA did not ask for this.As I read it" It was decided by all 4 track operators to move this break to 10.99 seconds for the upcoming 2012 drag racing season.Any questions can be directed to your local track operator or manager." So that what should be done, ask the track operator.
ps I thought the overlap should have been the way to go because of the car's with box running 11 to 11.50.So nothing would change for the people who did not want to change.now those people are forced to remove the box or go faster (which cost more money).
pss I'm one of the 1%
