I guess the old saying "Be careful what you ask for" came to haunt me this time.
. Before the AGM I decided to give up on this topic and just go ahead and order the parts to make my car go faster to get away from the annoying ET break. Now the annoying ET break appears to be following me.
What we really needed was an overlap system between the classes !
To better explain the "annoying" part of any ET break (without an overlap): In the spring and fall cars typically run faster than they do during the heat of the summer.
ie: My car ran 11.26 in Cape Breton in Sept on that cold windy weekend of the Team race. The very next weekend in Greenfield it was hot & humid and my car would not go any faster than 11.60's.
That puts many folks like myself into two different classes through out the season. So they are forced to pick the slower class and do the old Sand Bagging trick for 1/2 the season.
The ironic thing is my new combination will probably put me in the 10.80's to 11.20's through out next season. So the new 10.99 time break puts me back in the same situation I was in before. So it looks like some fresh brake pads will be on my Santa's list. ;D ;D ;D
Billy Billy Billy, after all these years of racing I thought you would have known that consistency is what wins races and not ET. Why, of all people, are you upset about racing against an 11.00 second car ? Just curious.
If the choice had of been up to me, I would have changed Street to 12.00 and slower. Pro would be 13.49-10.50 and S/pro would stay the same as it was at 11.49 and faster.
I would think it's not to late for the track owners to regroup and make further adjustments before the 2012 season starts, if they choose to do so thats ok. If not, Oh well ! I'll just go racing anyway.
