Welcome to our 900th edition of our Monday Nite Indy Pics Series. As far back as my brain can gather, the first editon for the series happened on or around September 5, 2005 and it's been a roller-coaster ride ever since. There's been both high and low points but in the end the real goal of the Monday Night Indy Pics series was to promote drag racing in Atlantic Canada. Because we have evolved into a group that spends more time using some form of online communications, the Drag Racers Message Board just seemed like the perfect fit for displaying some drag racing photos. This series now has a pretty dedicated group of regular followers and for that we are so grateful. Please note that there are followers from over the globe and they're my greatest inspiration. Over these 17+ years, the quality of the images has gone though several phases and the learning phase will hopefully never end.
By design this series regularly promotes drag racing and its based mainly on our local Maritime race tracks, and because of geography our Cape Breton Dragway. Over the years, our stories also caught the eye of RPM Magazine and Canadian Drag Racer Magazine which led to some exciting stories about the drag racing scene here in the Maritimes.
There's lots of people behind the scenes to help make this MNP's happen each week and I cannot start typing names to thank because of the fear of missing somebody. Just always remember, that all the photographers around the maritimes that constantly capture and share these great pieces of drag racing history. Once they're captured, then they need to be safely stored so they can be reused in the days ahead. Years ago it was all handled in photo albums and now its done with external drives
That ties right into tonights photos. In 2002, I had made a couple deals with local photographer George White, and I secured photo CD's with drag racing photos. We did the same arrangement several times over the years because while I was racing the Corvette, I wasn't able to collect very many photos. In later years, George would walk into my office with CD's of photos from time to time and I was also collecting 5500 photos per weekend at that time. These photos tonight are all from George's SONY camera and although most are from the 2002 file, there could be a couple from the 2003 file. That means George captured these 20+ years ago. Please enjoy and share these around as you wish. George would have really liked to have his photos being shared so please share them and enjoy.
That's my deal for today but I hope you all play safe and have a fun week.
