ACSSA RACE REPORT #1 First race of the 2016 year saw the debut of Ed Chapman's 1971 Chevelle. He and his son, Chris have built this car from a shell to a full blown race car that ran under the index its first time out. No easy feat given they only started six months ago. Some entries expected to attend were not able to make the call given damage suffered at an earlier race. We wish them luck getting the repairs completed and be back with us for race #2. It was nice to see Phil Archibald back racing again in this neck of the woods. He plans to be a regular at our ACSSA races. Qualifying is always fun to watch with competitors trying for the top spot and the $100 award that comes with it, not to mention the first round bye in a 19 car field. That upped the ante to $150.00 for the top spot. Fred would not be denied as the assault by Underhill and Howes in the second round could not edge Fred out. Top three qualifiers only separated by 0.01666 of a second. FINAL QUALIFYING ORDER ROUND ELIMINATIONS Congrats to Mike Stone on his first ACSSA win and Scott Sprague for his runner up finish. First final for both these competitors.
