There's always so much to review after a race weekend, why not just sit back and get caught up on the racing scene, with a visit to our Monday Nite Pics series.
To begin tonight, I'd like the wind the clock back (wouldn't we all) only 7 days because I'd like to acknowledge the accomplishments one of our Monday Nite Pics supporters.
Last Sunday at Raceway Park, PEI Ray “Pug” Smith earned top spot in the Sportsman class while driving his 1973 Plymouth Satellite. Congrats on win and what a great way to start the season. Good job
Ray "Pug" Smith and his "Dirty Harry" '73 Satellite
Next was round one of the ACSSA series and I have to thank Jeff Kempton and Darryl Poole for taking the time to forward pictures so we can all share the excitement of the weekend. I was unable to attend the event but I've collected enough info and photos to get most bases covered.
Greg Nickerson getting set for his Bounty Hunter run with Don LaVoie.
Greg and his wife, Janet accepting his plaque from ACSSA President Chris Howes.
Chris Howes and his Challenger went to right to the final round.
Kelly MacKay
Jeremy Keans
Jack Keirstead vs Chris Chapman
Bill Sheppard
Fred Thibeault
Bruce Riley
Billy Irvin
. . . the staging lanes
Al "The Thrasher" Harper
Jody Noble's car in the staging lanes
John Armstrong
Mark Howes
Terry Knapper
Next before I sign off, the ADRA also hosted round one of their championship season and it sounds like everyone enjoyed themselves as always.
I need to say congrats to Hannah Ranni as she celebrates her first win of the season. Another great start.
Steve Campbell was #1 qualifier in the Bike/Sled class
Lonny Wright enjoyed the bite in Greenfield
Lorne Buchanan
That's the deal for tonight but don't forget, Cape Breton Dragway comes to life again on Friday. The CBDRA will host round one of their season so make sure you start collecting those important points for the 2012 Team Race.
Can't wait to see you all trackside.
