I got a very good deal on an almost new 4150HP 750 Holley carb from a guy in NB. It came in the mail today, when I opened the box to fondel it ;D....I heard a funny rattle, I flipped over and over but I couldn't see where it was coming from...Upon closer inspection with a flash light I found my rattle: They fell in the hole in the center base plate and where rattling around between the venturi's.....Metal shot from the tumble polishing process....I had to take the base plate off to remove them as they wouldn't come through the hole with a magnet. How bad would that have sucked if they fell into the intake at WOT. ....I emailed the seller and told him what I found and that he might want to check his intake for shiny parts. I called Holley to make sure they were what I thought - all the tech guy could say was "Yikes"....LOL....He fired off an email to the quality control dept as he said this is one of the main things the inspectors are supposed to look for.

Could have been bad is an understatement. Those little critters could have caused a blown engine that could put oil under tires which could make for a wild ride(or worse)
