Welcome to week number 334 of our Monday Nite Pics. In our last edition, we made mention of our 2012 Quick 8 Event which then precipitated a few email inquiries. So for this week I’m gonna include a few images I collected last season at the Ideal Electric Quick 8 Event.

Next, I would like to touch on the upcoming meeting on the “PRO TREE SERIES.
There has been some chatter about this series and personally I think once it is organized, there’s no reason it can’t enjoy a similar rebirth that has come about in the Stock/Super Stock series. That ACSSA series is now already entering its third year and its growth is a still very evident.
As always with an idea there will be opinions, other ideas, and or course some confusion. The opinions and ideas all belong at the meeting and if your race vehicle fits into the three mentioned classes, I strongly suggest that you should be heard at the meeting in Moncton. Now, some of the confusion I’ve heard regards people not really being aware of the class breaks and or the concept of the “Pro Tree”.
Now, as most are aware, when operating under the Pro Tree, the car stages in the very same manor, once the tree is activated the racer will see all three ambers illuminated at once and then .400 of a second later the green light is on. Not all cars can react quick enough to use this set up and hence concept just does not apply to all. The other point I’d like to show is that these 8.90, 9.90, 10.90 classes have also carried different names over the years, so the concept being discussed is not by any means new, but more or less it is being reintroduced in our area. Again, there are will always be opinions, so if you have some why not take them to the meeting on Saturday. Here are some sample pics of such cars, all of which currently run under the Super Pro heading, while racing in Atlantic Canada.
George Estabrooks 10.90/Super Street/Hot Rod
Richard Boyd 10.90/Super Street/Hot Rod
Jason MacNeil 10.90/Super Street/Hot Rod
Jim Burns 9.90/Super Gas/Super Rod
Barrett Bonnar 9.90/Super Gas/Super Rod
Kevin Lively Jr. 9.90/Super Gas/Super Rod
Berny Corscadden 8.90/Super Comp/Quick Rod
Freddie Ford 8.90/Super Comp/Quick Rod
That’s the deal for this week. Let’s play safe and have fun and then we can meet again in seven days.

Next, I would like to touch on the upcoming meeting on the “PRO TREE SERIES.
” Just in case you are not aware, “there will be a preliminary meeting for the proposed 2012 Pro Tree Series on Saturday, January 21st, 11AM, at the St Hubert restaurant, 235 Carson Rd. in Moncton NB. For out-of-towners, the restaurant is located off exit 454 on the TC highway (Costco exit).”
