No didn't go racing in Quebec this weekend. ;D ;D Or on PEI for that matter but whole weekend was very car related, well most of it.
Sat morning started with non car related stuff namely my dishwasher, could not live without one now but it went on the fritz. But since I am convinced in my own mind I can fix anything I tore into it. Well home appliances and me are 1 & 1 right now. Did fix my washing machine last winter but the dishwasher got the better of me, less stuff works now than did on Fri. Went out to the shop licking my wounds looking for easier tasks. ;D ;D
Have a 50 Ford coming in this week for an air ride suspension and a 4 link on the rear. My block is now a wall ornament so need to make some cash to buy the shiny new one. Been beating my head against the wall long enough, time to bite the bullet. So cleaning up the shop and shuffling the T-Bird to make some room. Fairmont got relegated to the back yard under a cover until spring. Plan is still to do a ton of small stuff to the T-Bird before spring. Redo the front strut mounts to get more travel out of them. Rerun some brake lines and electrical to get it off the top bars of front chassis and down low out of sight, pure cosmetics. Make the tranny tunnel seal a little better. Have to seal up some holes, even a medium burnout had smoke in the car.
The extension to go under the front fiberglass has already been mounted, I have had it all along but it is almost impossible to mount on my own even with the Dzus's it uses, finally got it done. Car will be out next year with the regulation 3.5 inches clearance on the front. Will really have to watch where I pit on PEI to keep from tearing it off.
Spent some time with Pug next door talking about his new project, should be interesting following the progress on it as he gets it done.
Up at 2 AM Sun morning , John MacKinnon was heading to Que to pick up his new car, Jody Gallant and I went for the ride. He bought a 240 inch 2008 M&M dragster about a month ago. Car has gone high 6's with a 632 and some nitrous.

Beautiful car with all the goodies, Racepak data acquisition and all, the paint is really really nice (well except for the skeleton ). He also got an Abruzzi glide from the same people so with his 540 he is all set and could be racing in a week. Is the weather good enough to make some test passes at Raceway Park?? ;D ;D ;D
Some of the features, Racepak dash and some data acquisition, 16 x 16 American rear wheels, 9 inch sheet metal rear housing, "chromed" 4 link suspension, carbon fiber rear wing, one pc body, dual rear brakes with foot and hand brake. Very very nice car will get some pics this week and post them up.
Hit the road at 3AM, 1500 Kms later we were back home at 10 last night, long long day, will be asleep early tonight. Met the previous owner in Reviere Du Loup, we were there early and had to wait a couple hours but after strapping the car down in John's trailer and a crash course for John in how everything worked we were on the road again, in the snow. Fortunately by the time we got a hour or 2 back in NB the snow was gone and the roads were dry again. No road adventures to speak of, the fuel pump on the truck got balky when we were waiting for the car to show up but a quick smack of the fuel tank got it going and not a bit of trouble on the way home.
I did find out how stable my truck and trailer is compared to most. I have a 35 foot 5th wheel with 3 axles, with the extra weight and all the weight on the truck it is very stable meeting or passing semi's. I did some driving both ways and it is not quite the same with a tag trailer. Somewhere around Perth-Andover I was trying to get by 3 semi's who were trying to get by each other. Followed one of them by the other 2 and I was white knuckles on the wheel as the trailer seemed to want to go right into the side of the semi's. Once I figured out what was going on it was no problem but quite different than my own trailer.
I did try the car on for size and I do fit quite well but still very cramped compared to my car. No piperacks in my future, will stick with the doorcars. ;D ;D ;D
Will try to get some reports up over the winter as the various projects on PEI progress.
