Unfortunately Mike and Donnie Gillis won't be running their Camaro with us at this race, as for 2011 their focus has been on some other drag racing projects. Rest assured, they've told me that they'll be back at some point, and I'm sure it'll be with either that Camaro or another high winding, wheel standing stick car!

certainly was an entertaining car to watch as is terry knappers 4 speed car and jim darcy's 38 chev with its manual gearbox. now if i could just locate ray birt's old superfish and throw ray behind the wheel that would be worth the price of admission at any track. more fun than nitro cars......................

CONGRATULATIONS to Don "Mr. In-Between" LaVoie, who started off the day yesterday by putting 3-time winner Greg Nickerson on the trailer in the 1st Round, and didn't stop until his Vette was parked in the Winner's Circle! Don overcame a tough 20 car field (our first!) and made a big move in the points.
Look for the full race report to be posted late tonight or sometime tomorrow (as soon as I can find the time to write it!)

the racing in event 4 was certainly as good as any show you might see stateside. there was some close racing and the quality of the cars and drivers showed in all 4 races. it is more interesting to watch a group of guys run all out and not worry about being factored after the runs. there is brakes being used and not full passes under power because of this rule but it keeps the fields in check. some mighty impressive numbers out of the field of cars and nice to see that the local tracks can supply the "grip" to handle these vehicles. i did hear one bb chev hit about 10,000 rpm when something let go in the driveline and the engine freewheeled for a bit, but luckily no parts showed up on the track. to the guys who put this together and those who participated you did a great job all season again. looking forward to watching it again next year. it was fun to be a small part of it as well.... jeff r
