This will be a mind bender for most. Waterfront Dragway was run in NB One event only! Many Familiar racers were invited and paid cash to show up.Greg Nickerson was invited but could not make it. Question is where and when ? Bill E/SA 1428

Well I was there. I drove from Sydney to Campbellton, NB to watch that race because at the time the CBDRA was trying to put on drag racing demonstrations. I remember it was a bright sunny day and Joe Roy and James Cowie ran the dragsters there. I also video taped the entire event. My guess on the year, 1986. Somewhere here, I have a VHS that would tell the entire story. The people parked around us that day just loved the show. They also had the dragsters in the local mall a day or 2 before the event. I also remember seeing a Pennfield Truck on the site, likely the lights and gear were from there.
I also remember Bill Campbell and the Fairlane, perhaps Bill Sheppard as well, do I recall Bruce Riley... Dang gunnit... I guess I need to dig out that video and get it transferred to DVD.
I also think it was run mid week ...like a Wednesday or a Thursday as part of a festival....perhaps a Salmon Festival.
You are testing some badly burnt out regions of my brain though.
Keep it up.

Indy you were there !! Ken Packem was the hired mouthpiece did a great job Brenda Packem and Bill Shepard were oppenants, Leonard Arsenal and myself were running each other. James Cowie and Doug Forbes were the hired main attraction. Joe Roy and Don Lavoie heard the noise and stopped in on their way back from Sanair. Kevin Burns and his staff supplied all the equipment and Dixie Lee supplied the Power. We planned on about 1000 people we ran out of admission tickets.Speculation is that there were over7000 fans . Rumor has it that it was the largest single event that the Salmon Festival ever had,and they made money.Moosehead was a sponsor.Campbellton Auto Supplies,Rene' Trailer Sales provided tow vehicles.Alexander Construction was a sponser The date was July 1st 1986. T shirts & Dash plaques were done y the Wizard T shirts of Campbellton. Not to mention the fun we had at the pre race party, Don Mr. In between missed the turn at Cross Point, and missed the party. A lot of work but it made history. That's what I remember. There should be alot of pictures around I will contact some of the fans and see what we can find. That would have been a Tuesday. We had just spent 2 days at Raceway Park prior to the drive to Campbellton, those were the days for sure. I've been rooting for those tapes and now have them in hand and ready to get transferred to a DVD. Fingers are crossed LoL!

Any reason as to why it was just a one off event ?

Why only one event "insurance"
To quote K&K insurance "We don't insure street events" There have been numerous requests to have the event but you can't do it without insurance! And in my previous post I forgot to mention that it was 1/8 mile racing. Held on Salmon Boulevard Campbellton
