With the interest shown for Stock & Super Stock racing in the Maritimes so far this year, MDP should see a good turnout! Best wishes for a successful weekend of racing.

Suprised it hasn't been mentioned but the race in the Miramichi was rather expensive, parts wise.
1) Rick Wilson had a new bullet out of Quebec installed in His SuperStocker Camaro and it bogged on the first qualifying pass. Second pass it started smoking REAL bad on the left bank. Using the bore scope in #1 cyl we saw piston around the wall and connecting rod in the centre! Pulling the head revealed a piston with a 2" hole in the centre. Upon further examination is was concluded that the intake valves were hitting all the pistons on that bank. As far as speculation and names etc, we won't go there. Rick will sort out his own private affairs. 2) Terry Knapper's Stocker Camaro was next to have a case of "rapid engine disassembly". At about 1000ft there was a loud bang and a bit of smoke. Back at the pit the obvious signs of trouble were present. The block and oil pan were pushed out from the inside...on both sides! A rod let go is the foregone conclusion.
3) Blair McDonald's wheelstanding SuperStocker Camaro was next. Wheels up through first, the front end came slamming down when second gear decided to exit. 3rd gear allowed him to ease down the track to the return road.
Exellent racing and a Ford won Saturday. Sunday was an all dodge final. Bad weekend for Chevies. Hopefully all involved in the destruction will be able to patch up and be back in October for the last two races!
