Welcome to another edition of our Monday Nite ritual, this is # 726 and I've got lots info to report on tonight. To begin, the Big Truck Show N Go event sponsored by Robby Reid's Truck and Trailer, was well received and we had plenty of action in the pits and on the track. Here are some photos catured at the event held on Saturday at Cape Breton Dragway.
Low ET Winner Mark Kliza, New Waterford, Peterbilt, 14.03 at 54.30 mph.
Gary Pozzebon, Mark Kliza, Kevin Polegato
People's Choice Award Dan McCormick, Sydney, Peterbilt
Danny Dethridge, Meg-Jace-Tripp-Dan McCormick, Gary Pozzebon
There was a buzz in the air when Blain Marsh brought the Dan Page dragster to the staging lanes on Saturday afternoon. Everyone on site was thrilled to see the low elapsed time numbers get lowered once again. This time the Robin's Donuts sponsored dragster took a big bite into Cape Breton Dragway covering the first 60 feet in 0.948 seconds. We're also pretty sure the timer was tripped by the rear wheels. At the big end, the timers read 4.062 at 172.12 miles per hour. Before, I post the photos I have a brief story about catching photos of high speed action. A big feature for my photography is working with a camera that can capture many images in bursts. Our current camera is rated at 6.5 frames per second under perfect conditions. So this next sequence (or burst) of photos cover the first full second of Blain's trip down the strip on Saturday. Just think about all the things that happen in a second. Enjoy these . . .
I call this one "The Hit"
I also promised Noel Peach some better photos this week and I think I finally got a couple on Saturday.

And here are a few other random photos that caught my eye . . .
Another special event from the weekend, we had a racer and his family arrive from St John's Newfoundland and competing in the Pro Class with one of the nicest white Firebird's I've seen. I'm pretty sure they enjoyed the visit as much as we enjoyed having them here. Rick Hickey powered his ride thru the field and claimed 1st place in the Pro Class.
Another nice gesture, the Newfoundland Team wanted a photo with our track crew and by the way, everyone did an amazing job getting this one done only moments before the rains came.
That's my deal for today but the racing action this coming weekend shifts to Greenfield Dragway and the Bracket Bash, plus you'll get to see wild horsepower of the TS/TD Series, and the ACSSA series will be in competition. Play safe and have a fun week.
