Welcome to edition # 698 and as we close in on another milestone number, there is still a few projects that need to be on the go this past week. To begin, I've been working on a new watermark for my photos and from time to time you will see the familiar " INDY" logo and other times you see a newer version watermark, to identify my photos. Next, the CBDRA logo needed to be updated for 2019 and that too is now ready. Here is a combination of both of the aformentioned items. This next photo was taken in 1986 in Campbellton, NB when Sandra and I drove up to watch the drag racing demonstration at Waterfront Dragway in Campbellton. We spotted this Demon at McDonald's and I had stop in to make the capture. That's our Ford truck and I can't tell you how many times I've remembered this hot-rod, but now I wonder where this car might be some 33 years later. The rest of tonights photos come from Sunday, September 3rd at Cape Breton Dragway. Please enjoy! Hi Indy, GREAT Pics as always. Can't wait to see what your going to do for # 700. That Yellow Demon is still in the Campbellton ares and as far as I know it's still owned by Tim Guitar who is the original owner. I Think it's blown now. He was a good friend of Rick's. You didn't see very many tubed street cars with wheelie bars cruising the streets back in 86 now did you? Not hard to see why it caught your eye. Great pic. great history.

Yes, we were at Oyster-Bed Bridge the weekend before, but then we had the urge to check out Waterfront Dragway. That was because we actually had held a few racing demonstrations down here in Cape Breton. Yes sir, we had some pretty awesome ones too, and for those that might remember. Like when Barry Paton launched the FC in the Mayflower Mall parking lot. Frig man I'll tell you it was something to see. No camera with me and it was many years before cell phones. Somebody has some pics of that event.
Anyway Bill, here's the video we made while we were in Campbellton. I hope you enjoy.

Thanks again Gerard for yet another terrific Monday Nite selection! The new watermark looks great; and IMO will be good promotion for you as you continue to access new markets with your work.
The Campbellton clip was very cool to see; I'm sure I was aware of it back in the day but if so it had totally slipped my mind. I recall hearing that something similar took place on the streets of Summerside as well; can anyone share that story?
And while we're sharing stories ..... Bill Campbell (or others), how about filling us in on that white Fairlane fastback Stocker that you're paired off against? It sure would be cool to see something like that resurface at one of our ACSSA races!

Hey Jeff, It was originally built as a High School Performance Testing and Evaluation Car,we could not call it Race Car. It was the high school champ when we held the first NB School Boy eliminations at Oyster Bed Bridge 1981 ?. Leonard Arsenault of Campbellton Auto supplies made it a NHRA Stocker with some help from other NHRA Stockers in C'Ton.
Pat Berthelot a famous racer and student of mine painted it red and raced it Maitland and Winter Port Maine, the car ended up in Cayuga with some success then the CJ fastback was sold .end of what I know about that car,do not think it will return to the east..
still waiting for those other paid racers to chime in..Doug Forbes taped the race at Water Front Dragway.
