Neat video which shares the Indy experience. Being torn down at an NHRA event is always possible. Especially if class elminations are contested.

Good stuff there. What I like about Stock/Superstock is how little it has changed over the decades and except for the weird looking intakes and cylinder heads on those new cars that scene could have been Kevin Power's garage in the 1970s on a Sunday night.

then theres the last 2 lines in the article refering to "elite sportsman racers". now thats funny........ Jeff R, I know that you enjoy Stock/SS along with all other classes of drag racing, and I don't think you're intentionally trying to cause s__t for us, but please don't use that one word in this informative article to try to re-kindle a local debate. I'm sure all the author meant is that only a few people opt to do this type of racing, and he definitely did NOT mean that Stock/SS racers feel they are any better or worse than anyone else. The racers in the ACSSA are just like all the other racers around here; just local enthusiasts trying to keep our sport of drag racing healthy in a small market.
I think that the article (along with the video) does a pretty good job of explaining what happens in a tear down, and I hope that some people find that aspect more interesting than a single word at the end of the article.

Please don't everyone get in a panic. I think the "local" definition of the term has been somewhat clouded over the winter with the flame wars on the board. It just seems funny to some when you apply the term as it's been used locally to a group that acts anything but elite. I'm sure no malice was intended....
