The second Pro Tree Series race of the season was contested at Cape Breton Dragway this past weekend under beautiful sunny skies. This time around we were called to the lanes for two hits on the pro tree before heading into a single qualifying run. In the 10.90 class it was Brett Ramsay at the top with a 10.93, 9.90 was Spencer Phillips with a 9.92, and Chris O'Neill in the 8.90 class with an 8.92. Each of the top qualifiers received $100 and the five bonus points that come along with it.
The 10.90 class saw nine cars coming to the lanes for first round. Fast forward to the semis, Sam Ward had the single earning him a spot in the final, while Brett Ramsay sent Jason MacNeil to the trailer. Brett has been on fire this season, and today was no different, coming from the number one qualifying spot to get the win!
The 9.90 class saw seven cars making the call to the lanes. The semis had Spencer Phillips getting the win over Josh Goodwin, and Mike Sargent getting around Glenn Maclean. In the finals it was the number one qualifier getting the job done again, as Spencer Phillips beat Mike Sargent to the stripe for the win!
The 8.90 class has been the most popular class to date, and this time we had 12 cars registered to do battle. The semis saw John Hill getting the win over Todd Chase, and Lynn Cormier defeating Lorne Buchanan. In the all door car final (we all know real race cars don't have doors...lol), it was John getting the win over Lynn! Todd Chase would finish in third.
Congratulations to all the winners, and thank you to all the racers for traveling some long distances to come be part of the Pro Tree Series program. Thank you to Gary Pozzebon and his staff for including us in their race weekend, we always receive a warm welcome coming to Cape Breton Dragway!
Now for some smiling faces, funny how money has that affect on people!
