With the announcement of the new date of October 13 for Race 5, it's time to start a new Roll Call. Unfortunately several of our racers will be away at the Dutch Classic that weekend, so our numbers will be down a bit from the record attendance that we were expecting on September 22 before that date got rained out. However, we still expect a good turnout!
Racers; please let us know your plans so that we can fill out our "Roll Call" list as soon as possible!

I just received confirmation from Terry Knapper that he'll also be racing with us on Oct. 13th; welcome Terry! There are still several racers that we haven't heard from, but here's our list so far:

While our entry numbers appear to have stalled over the last few days at twelve entries, there are still a few racers that we haven't heard from yet. Malcolm London and Bill Campbell have not yet checked in among others.
Bill Campbell's 3rd Place standing in the season points will definitely be up for grabs if he doesn't attend the race. Jody Noble will tie him merely by showing up, and then can pass him with a single round win. Jack Keirstead is also only a round win away from passing Bill but has to go to go one round further than Jody to jump in front of him too. Scott Underhill still has an outside chance at 3rd place as well, but needs to win the race and have both Jody and Jack go out in the early rounds in order to achieve it.
Of course if Bill attends the race then all these scenarios go out the window and the task of passing him in the points gets a lot tougher.
Jeremy Kean's 2nd place spot isn't safe either, but getting around him may be tough considering how well he's been running lately. Jody has to go three rounds further than Jeremy to pass him in the points, while Jack has to go three rounds further than Jeremy plus a round further than Jody to secure the second spot. If Bill attends he can take over 2nd place by going two rounds further than Jeremy.
There are also a couple of possible "Tie" scenarios for both 2nd and 3rd place, but we'll wait and see rather than trying to list all the possibilities here.
Jeremy doesn't have to watch over his shoulder for just those three competitors though: as our most recent race winner he has the Bounty Hunter "bull's eye" on his back too. The entire field will be looking to turn on the win light against him and collect that extra fifty dollars!
While the above noted racers are the ones chasing a last minute move into the paying spots in the season points, we shouldn't forget that every racer in the field is fully capable of playing spoiler. Greg Nickerson has his second straight ACSSA Championship sewed up, but rest assured that he'll be no less eager to put another race win on his resume. In addition each and every one of our returning racers are fully capable of stepping up to steal the win and the crucial points that go with it. Scott Sprague is also joining our series at this race, and he's had lots of success in other classes and is sure to be a contender right out of the gate.
The bottom line is that even though the turnout at this race may be smaller than preceeding 2012 ACSSA races due to the number of racers away at the Dutch, the action in the points race is far from over! Be there if you can!
