The title comes from my buddy Jensen Green, we spent some time touring the pits on my moped over the weekend and Jensen was not that interested in the conversations I wanted to have every time I saw anyone I knew. ;D ;D
Some congrats
First Jim Green winning Super Pro on Sun., he was pretty down on himself after missing the light big time and losing early Sat. Certainly redeemed himself with packages that kept getting better as the rounds went deeper. Put down a .02 or smaller in the final. Good job my friend. ;D ;D ;D
Chad Ramsay doubling up and collecting some big cash on the weekend. Went thru 71 cars on Sat for the no-box win. Beat almost that many again on Sun for the Pro win. Chad was on a big time roll and since no-box entry was $20.00 on Sat the 1K+ purse must have felt pretty good. Only question I have is "what is Brett's cut?" since it is his car. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Glen MacLean on the box win on Sat, deadly on the tree and doing a good job at the top end. Amazing thing was he only stopped making suspension changes at the semi's. He made enough changes that day to make a Nascar crewchief shake his head. ;D ;D Went a couple of rounds on Sun until something bit him at the start line and the 60 foot went way away for the loss.
Riley Green on the Sat Junior win, knocking the tree down all day and dragster was deadly. Things did not go as well Sun but still a good weekend.
Gary Gooding on his first 9 sec pass, put a centrifugal blower on the car and after some tuning issues put the big number down.
Travis Livingstone on winning what looked like about 20 rounds on Sat in both box and no box. By the time he lost in both classes it looked like the car never sat still, drive back to the pits, sit for 2 minutes and back to the lanes. ;D ;D Always seems to be one of the 3 "Dodge Boys" who go big rounds in a couple of classes. If not Travis, then Bruce or Clayton seem to do the job.
My own weekend, ran some big numbers 9.37@144, lost in the 3rd round in box but wonder why I hang around for Sun at that meet. Not sure I have ever come out of the Greenfield spring meet with anything but appearance points. Missed the light on Sun first round and Joey Carrol took me to school with a .032 package.
T-Bird was deadly on Sunday and getting a little tired of its driver ;D, don't know if a brake pad was dragging but I am sure I kept hearing "you suck, you suck" as I winched it into the trailer on Sun afternoon.
Oddest thing was the effect of my spoiler extension, pic of it on the car
Have not been running it the past years because it is so awkward to put on the car. Figured it out over the winter but it meant even less air getting into the engine compartment and running even hotter than it ever did. So before the 3rd round on Sat (I know brilliant bracket racing move in the middle of a race ) I took it off. With only a slightly better 60 foot it picked up .06!!! at 1000 feet. I was trying to close up the finish line so no real ET, Jason MacNeil doesn't share that line worth a dam. ;D ;D But ran 144 both full passes on Sun and was going to be deadon the 9.43 in the 1st round loss. Evidently what looks like better aerodynamics is not always the case.
