I got a used 11.5" bolt pattern TCI 10" converter in a trade deal. I was told it stalled around 3500-3800 behind his 466BBF. I bought a new PRW flexplate for it and ARP bolts. The bolt holes for the converter are off a smidge. The converter has "ears" that are threaded 7/16" NF with studs screwed into them. I used a 7/16" reamer to open up the holes to 7/16" but it's still a little off - almost but not quite close enough. Would I be safe to ream the holes to more or should I take this to a converter shop to be fixed up?

Drill the flexplate holes to 15/32 diameter. My ATI flexplate has 1/2 inch holes for the 7/16 studs, lots of room to get them lined up and the holes look like new so once the converter sets where it wants to be it does not move. Trying to get 4 7/16 studs thru 4 reamed 7/16 holes is asking both companies to meet unrealistic tolerances. The holes in the flexplate were made for the 3/8 studs that are on a stock converter.
