Chris already took care of my press release. Thanks Buddy!!!
He was too busy helping me out to take much time for himself, but he made 4 nice passes in his car, consistent as ever! 8.86, 8.84, 8.82 and 8.80.
Should be a great summer.

Well, I will add to this thread. The Forbes had their new dragster out for the first time this past weekend too. Sarah was behind the wheel running a best pass in the 8.50's I think. Very nice looking Miller 4 link car!! Mike already posted some info, but here is a shot of his rocket at rest! Tom Oakley found his way back to the track after sitting out last year as well. He had the big block running good, posting a very strong 7.78 pass. Needless to say, that put a smile on his face! Great to see the dragster back at the track Tom. Trevor Cowie sold his Nova in the off season and brought a big block dragster back from down south to come play in the Pro Tree series with. I didn't get to get a close look at it, but Jerry Stafford had a very nice Vette out for some test and tune as well. Jeremiah Lounsbury was behind the wheel on the weekend. Chris

Well said, Gerard. I don't do Facebook either, and visit this site daily to find out what's going on. I hope that our local racers and tracks will rediscover this site to promote the sport both locally and internationally.

Also had the vette out for a run with similar result 1.16 60t then 500ft out got loose. pads were good but not enough for a door slammer past 500ft. Made it exciting for all the high school participants to watch. Mike

Usually Mario takes care of doing the weekend reports and he usually does a pretty good job of it too. But I heard he has been real busy at work lately plus trying to get his new "antique" engine together and then there was something said about a new lady friend too.
Like Mario, a lot of us seem to have too many Irons in the fire this year and were not really ready for this racing season just yet. Hopefully most will be ready for the next race here in June. I bought the parts last fall to rebuild a new engine for my car and still haven't had the time to start that project yet. So for now it's the same combo as last year. Joanie and I bought a Motorhome in April. It's hard to believe that it was 3 years ago since we sold our last one.

Usually Mario takes care of doing the weekend reports and he "usually" does a pretty good job of it too. But I heard he has been real busy at work lately plus trying to get his new "antique" engine together and then there was something said about a new lady friend too. HUMMMM interesting. ;D ;D ;D Had a camera with me and all but did not get any pics either. I make a terrible spectator, would think I would see more just wandering but there is something about being outside the action. Did notice a couple of things. Went home sat afternoon to work on the "Antique", got back just in time to see the 2 finals. Winners both dead-on with 0's for one of them. The other is missing bumper chrome but who can argue with a deadon pass. ;D ;D Those island boys love their finish line. ;D Just a note on that Sat was 1/8 mile, "just saying!!!!" Deadon passes seemed to be almost the order of the day on Sun. mov's that were out to the 3rd place seemed to be the rule rather than the exception. This game is not getting any easier. ;D ;D Dave MacKinnon's Camaro was giving him fits, not running last year's numbers at all. Raced Sat to a 3rd in Box but put it on the trailer Sun. Finally found a dead plug to explain the loss of performance. Couple of congrats to pass out Big kudo's for Ray Roach on doubling up Sat & Sun in box class, car was deadly, more than one deadon pass and Ray getting it done at the tree. Congrats to Bruce Howatt on the no-box Sat win, Clayton on the Sat Box runner-up. Joey MacInnis spent sat doing all the maintenance he was supposed to do over the winter. Must have done a good job, congrats on the Sun Bike/Sled win.

i agree with the facebook comments to me it is crap book lol bring the info here guys and leave the gossip site to the chatty cathys lol I believe Facebook is responsible for us losing advertising revenue like crazy here at MaritimeDragRacing.com - two banner ads on our home page in the last year and it looks like we're about to lose another one since the last invoice I sent out was completely ignored. Seems that as soon as one of our advertisers gets a Facebook page they give up advertising on our website. If revenue continued to fall we could cut back on the bandwidth and disk space on our server. That means pop-ups, google ads and all the other crap we are currently paying to avoid. That option is out since it would just drive people away. We could get around it by moving to another server but that would break all of our links including those of the websites we currently host and maintain and that is not acceptable either. We will just have to live with the fact that no one wants to come on board as a sponsor any more. One time we were turning down people because we decided on a limited number of ads on our home page. Today we have one blank spot with our plea for advertisers, a link to one of our hosted websites and very shortly another ad will be removed for non-payment. Our Home Page consistently gets 2,000 to 3,000 hits per day - I think that's a heck of a lot more exposure than a business' Facebook page could generate.
