Thanks for posting the dates Jeff. Idid get the impression that the ACSSA dates were to be set after the dates for N.H.R.A and I.H.R.A were released, and so far only one is posted...As for the race on PEI in sept.I hope they buy more land for parking.I was there last sept.I arrived friday evening, and got parked on sat.A.M.Just not enough parking area for the car count.just thinking outloud.WE AS A GROUP should have more input into OUR series!!!.Blair

Blair, I'm sorry to hear that the Labour Day weekend race date disappoints you. Last year you voted in favour of that date in our survey, so I guess it never crossed our minds that you would be against it now. As far as involving members in the decision; you'll recall that in the Nov. 12 meeting Chris stated our intention was to look at five races this year, and no members expressed any concerns about us continuing down that path. If I recall correctly; at that time you actually commented that we should have six, but you didn't suggest avoiding any particular dates or tracks.
The PEI pits do get pretty full in September, but the track was interested in hosting us that weekend so we scheduled it. I'm sure that the track will do everything within their power to find pit space for everyone.
The chosen dates also avoid all the NHRA Div. 1 points meets except the mid-summer one in Atco, which no-one from here attends. IHRA no longer races anywhere near us so we weren't concerned with their schedule.
We felt it was important to get our dates out ASAP, because Don LaVoie wanted to include them in his 2012 race calender, and because the new .90 race series will want to finalize their race dates soon.
In closing, we want to state that all the ACSSA Directors consider involvement by the membership to be an important part of our success. If anyone has any other concerns in this regard, feel free to email me at jeffkempton@hotmail.com and I along with the rest of the Directors will do our best to address them.

Jeff.Yes I was after 6 or more races in our series.it would be great to be able to race here all year, the cost of going south hurts the pocket. I will probably be the only one that will race IHRA,once or twice this year.Great that Don is going to put our dates on the calender. As for the Sept.race on PEI,I forgot how many cars this race usually has, until I was there this year, but if some parking assistance had been used there would have been enough room for all. Marilyn cut some branches off to make room for us on Sat.A M.On the right side of the return road going in.On another note, are we running half track on PEI. .The only conflict with our dates seems to be INDY.Again thanks for the early posting,it sure makes planning the year easier.Thanks.Blair

Based on the vote taken before last year's race in PEI and the positive feedback received afterward, both ACSSA races there in 2012 will be contested as 1/8th mile events.
Only two of our members have run Indy in the last several years, so avoiding that race wasn't considered critical.

The race in Napierville september long weekend conflicts with this date ,its actually referred to as the "indy alternative " to many class racers in the northeast and for some of us a cost effective way to do some NHRA class racing as its the closest distance to do so,I realize you cant make a schedule to keep everyone happy but with overcrowding september long weekend a factor perhaps a weekend like the turkey trot weekend would be one to concider since the Island is offering to host the series , this date would also allow full quarter mile passes in cool october air ,just some thoughts .

It's the Open that is the race most of the guy's here will go to, which was the weekend before the race @ Lebanon valley.there is no date set for that race yet.
