Add a stocker to your series every year..........Sounds like quite a goal doesn't it.
Here's a quick run down of an idea,
set a funding goal of what it takes to build a combination that will run under an oddball index.... Something like a 5000 dollar build... Whatever works?? including everything from purchasing the car to it's first pass.
Raise the money by selling units of the fund, each unit being treated as a ticket towards winning the vehicle. Example, 5000 dollar build, 50 units at 100 each.
There could be a volunteer committee that organizes the purchase of the car, labor and skills, buys parts, assembles the vehicle. With a lot of hard work, debating, and everything at goes with it, there could be a new entry every year. It wouldn't be a screamer, but could be a competitor.
Something that comes from nothing.... An idea.

An interesting idea, Matthew, but it would involve a significant amount of sponsorship and volunteer labour to make happen, and right now there are lots of other items that must take priority over this for the good of our series. Besides; as far as growth is concerned, our series seems to be doing very well. We've added three new participants so far this year; including a newly built entry with a driver fresh to the class, and there are at least two other newly built cars expected to debut by season's end. Also, two other new participants have written to tell me that they'll be racing with us in Miramichi. That'll make seven cars racing with us in 2011 that weren't with us last year, an increase in numbers of over 30%. We fully expect that the fields at our remaining races will exceed the 20 car mark; maybe as many as 24!
While we won't gain seven cars every year, I think it's very likely that we'll experience growth each season. I've had numerous racers approach me for specific information on how to convert their existing car to be legal for Stock or Super Stock, and I anticipate that some of them will make the move at some point. Others may take advantage of the information posted online and build an entry level Stocker, or buy one of the many ones advertised here and elsewhere. With all this in mind, the future of Stock and Super Stock class racing here in the Maritimes, as well as the future of the ACSSA, is very bright!

Great work Jeff. The series wouldn't be what it is without you. Younnever know what can come of an idea until it is expressed.

Thanks for the supportive words, Matthew, but it's not just me that is responsible for the success of the series. Mark Howes has been working alongside me on this from the beginning, and the racers , sponsors, track operators, announcers, and fans have all played a crucial role in making this a success as well. We couldn't have done it without them.
