While building and running many of the popular Stock and Super Stock combos can make a significant dent in your bank account, there are cheaper options out there. I found this thread interesting, and maybe you will too; especially if you're curious about running Stock on a budget: classracer.com/classforum/showthread.php?t=34410

In one of the above threads one of the talked about cheap and competitive Stocker combos was a late '70's Aspen or Volare station wagon with either a 318 or a Slant Six. Well; if racing one of these turns your crank, here's the perfect starting point. It's a '79 Volare wagon 318, located in the Pennsylvania and available for a "really right" price. With a 318 I'm guessing it'd be a P/SA (13.75 IHRA Index) and with the six maybe a V/SA (15.80 IHRA Index) classracer.com/classforum/showthread.php?t=36727One of these wagons is also for sale here in Nova Scotia; only 20 minutes from the Greenfield track: halifax.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-classic-cars-MUST-GO-NO-REASONABLE-OFFER-REFUSED-W0QQAdIdZ323828403The Volare two door for sale in the same ad also has good Stocker potential using either the 360 or 318 combo, or even the Slant Six. Or; run it with a Crate Motor combo, or as a GT Stocker with a different year engine.
