Just a few quick pics of the new car in progress. Will be powered by a 472 big block Ford (of course ;D )and a Glide with a brake. I hope to have at least one weekend with it before this season is over.

I got the chassis from Shawn Leudy from CB, formally called "Trouble Maker". The front fiberglass clip is off another Pinto I have that was raced by John Armstrong for a couple seasons (or so I was told), which will also return to the track in the next couple years (if I can get my dad convinced!).
Everyone always asks me "What the heck is with all the Pintos?" I'm not sure, maybe it's because when I used to watch those old drag racing clips from the 70's which were ruled by Pintos and Vegas. My favorite car for YEARS was Gliddens Pro Stock Pinto.

Very nice job. My favorite era in drag racing was 1970's Pro Stock as well, so I can relate to your fondness for Pinto race cars. I had one myself, as well as a Vega. Can't help but point out tho: while you said that the engine was Ford "of course" you didn't mention the heritage of that Powerglide you're using......I don't recall seeing any blue oval badges there!

I'm actually supporting all of the "big 3", Ford motor, Gm tranny, and a Mopar rear! Hey whatever works eh? Got the motor and tranny in the night before last to check clearance and make up the front and mid plates. I'd like to get a few runs in before this season ends. We'll see how it goes. I don't see too many guys running 429-460 motors.

Almost ready to fire up. Gotta drill / tap a hole in the tranny pan and fill it with fluid and we're ready to hear it.
