Those pistons are bit wild lookin! A far cry from the ole hyper flats goin in the 454 lol!
What do you figure it'll make for power?

Very nice looking stuff. BUT I have to ask, why when the differences between a big/small block Old's is so minimal not go 455? Cubes rule.

Strange looking beasts aren't they - I take it that you ordered with specific heads (plug location) in mind!! And that your interest in spraying the old girl has diminshed a wee bit!! Let me guess - 11.5:1?

That's the plug location on Olds' heads. There still may be some spray, that all depends on what times I turn without it. With the Edelbrock heads, Fel-Pro gaskets, zero decking the block & these pistons, my compression will be at 12:1

12:1 - means I'll have competition at the pumps next year in Sydney - don't drain them out before I get there!!
What kind of coating is on them? Or is that some kind of shipping protection?
