For those interested, here's a little journal I'm keeping on the progress on the restoration of my V8 Pinto. This car will live half it's life on the track, but still be street driven. The car was already setup with a V8 and raced for many years. (Some of you Oysterbeder's might remember this car formerly owned by Doug Havenga) I'm doing a total redo of the whole car, including plans for a 408W stroker. Still working on the body, and hope to soon start the engine. Hope to maybe gain some advice from some of the veteran racers on the board, since this is my first build of this type. Well, first build period!! Pinto Project Journal

Your build is looking good! That will make for one quick little Pinto!

You've come a long way with your Pinto already! Always liked V-8 Pintos, Vegas, and Arrows, due to my first getting hooked on drag racing when these body styles absolutely ruled Pro Stock racing.

I lost a lot of momentum on the car the last few months. I quit my last job and recently opened my own business, so a lot of my time has been taken up. But I'm determined to get this car going this season!! I ditched the 408 idea, and went with a 306 that I got from a MDR.com member (thanks again Tony). Should be plenty to get a light little Pinto moving!! Got the engine and transmission ready to go in. Hopefully it'll be buttoned up sometime in the next few days. Then a few things here and there before a T&T!! I can't wait!!!! I'm sure this thing will get some attention! LOL I'm hoping the 8" rear will hold up. I rebulit it with a Richmond kit, 4.11 gears and a Lock-Rite locker. I guess we will see!!
