I'm gonna do as much as I can this winter and hopefully I'll have a running truck in the spring. The plan is to do all the fab work then strip the body off the frame to clean it up for paint. I'm hoping to get by with a few extra cross members and the roll bar for rigidity for 07 and box the frame for 08 if I change the front suspension at that time.
I started making my solid engine mounts tonight, I should have them finished tommorow and ready for another mockup of the engine in the truck. How much "angle or tilt" should the engine have toward the rear? Is there an ideal range? During the first mockup it was leaned back about 5 degrees from level.

The pitch of the engine kind of depends on what you'll be using for suspension as it is a factor in the pinion angle.
5* sounds reasonable - as long as the tranny clears the cab - and nothing interfere's you should be OK.. That being said - I think your oil pump is in the front of the engine with a long pickup that goes to the rear of the pan. If so, that shouldn't be an issue either..
If your going with leafs - your pinion angle should be around -5*, ladder bars/4 link are good at around -2*

The mounts I'm making will have 2 bolts holding them to the CM, for now I can install just one on each side and I can drill the 2nd hole once my rear suspension is done and I set the angle.

The 351 and C4 are sitting in the Ranger and are bolted down. We finished moving the trans crossmember ahead and bolted it up. We cleaned up the shop really good to get ready for the next round of mod's....I'm glad too, I was getting bored with the engine mounts...LOL....
