I think he wants to be able to hear that quick rpm sound, that only comes from a SBC. ;D. not only the quick rpm sound but i want a motor that is not going a Fix Or Repair Daily thing.

Yeah i agree with Scott. I like to see the same engine brand as the car. Ford in a Ford, Olds in an Olds, Chev in a Chev, etc. etc. The small block chevy in everything is a little old, if you ask me. A majority of the cars you see at drag races and car shows are small block chev powered. It's nice to see something different. But then again, maybe i'm just too dam picky, LOL I agree but I should do better with a 350. Ya would have to have lots of bucks or a realy good 302 that will run as good as a 350.

350's work good, but i have see some pretty plain fords run some respectable times. If you going to be using a stang anything should work good in it. My theory is that it doesn't matter what it is as long as it goes down the track, I might be stuck with a 305 to start out with. either way though, best of luck on the project

Yeh that is a pretty true theroy. Most the reason I decided to go chev was one that i have always been a chev kind of person and two if you break something at the track some one has always good a spear 350 part to at least lend you to get up and running. And thanks for the luck going to need it.

The motor i was going to put in this car was pitted so we threw that block away. then i bought another motor which was really no good to me cause it was a newer style 350 and they do not really have the guts the old ones do. Then after all this trouble i got my hands on a 350 bored out .030 with the whole bottom end in her all redone and the dome and heads too. Will gets some pics on the website in the next couple days cause we are going to pull it apart and make sure she is all good.
