For a "junkyard dog" that ol' 'bird looks pretty solid, Stu. Good luck with your plans...... I'll keep my fingers crossed for you on that rear axle!

Yup , it has 3 rust spots to be fixed and some dents, otherwise the body is in great shape. I need a LF fender as the old one was bent up quite badly so I tossed it. I think the IRS will be ok, I can get a urethane bushing kit for it and heavy duty race axles too. The center section is an 8.8, they are pretty sturdy units as well. A tub job would be nice, but having the unique "coolness" of the IRS kinda makes me want to test its limits!!! ..The traction should be even as well, no solid axle wind-up here...LOL ;D...My 1995 Cougar XR-7 would just plant and go, very slow but consistant times in the 1/4 when I raced it once 3 years ago.
