Welcome to another round of our Monday Nite Indy Pics. For our 833rd edition, we are sending get well wishes out to a great friend and supporter of this Monday Nite series, Jim Green. Jim follows this series pretty closely and we would like wish him the very best.
My next topic involves the conclusion of our 2021 season. The management, staff, and membership of Cape Breton Drag Racing Association would like to extend our sincere thanks for all those that have participated and followed the events of this, our second complete Covid-19 season. The restrictions surrounding the pandemic have made this a very difficult and challenging ordeal for everyone, but we really appreciate the understanding from our drag racing community. The racers, their crew members, our spectators, our staff and especially of sponsors have all united to help us continue with our track upgrades as well as hosting seven complete events during a pandemic. Thank you to each and everyone of you for whatever part you played.
The final event provided me with several little notes worth mentioning. Friday right after work, I arrived in the tower to see our main computer, unside down and in surgery. I had visions of it never being a computer again, but shortly afterwards, it was humming along like a good soldier. The gods were really with us there. Saturday was a beautiful day at the track and everyone enjoyed five full rounds of "Time Trials" and then we completed four separate Gamblers races. We did manage to find one cloud that made a quick deposit on the track but the sun that followed right after had us back up and running within minutes. I'm not sure exactly sure how many photos I collected that day, and I might never find out because of a memory card malfunction. I'm estimating between 700-900 photos are still hiding somewhere on the card. All of our recovery efforts thus far have not unvailed a single photo. The hammer has not yet been involved, but it should never be ruled out.
The final points chase results will be along later this week and there won't be a lot of position changes as the final Sunday event was a rain-out and hence everyone will be collecting their show points.
That's my story for today but I still want you all to play safe and have a fun week. The racing action moves to Greenfield this weekend so safe travels to all involved.
