Welcome to edition #810 and to begin tonight our first topic involves our use of hand held devices (meaning cell phones). Yes, over the years there has has been increased usage of phones and in many cases the many 1000’s of apps that have also become the norm. Some users try to stay in touch with all the latest technology, while others dabble with a few different apps, while the others will only use the phone as a phone. Think about the way our vehicles connect with our phones and thus providing safer ways to make hands free calls, voice texts, etc. The benefits in today’s world, we carry around some pretty powerful devices, but unfortunately sometimes the information gets missed or forgotten and the potential is only about 5% used. Everyone has their own level of comfort with their phone and some are always curious about how you do new things, but don’t really want to ask.
Well I thought would attempt to help in some way to improve things so I’m planning to host a seminar on the basic fundamentals of using cell phone and the use of data. There are many types of phones and providers and they’re all very similar in many areas. I’m thinking each class will be limited to the first five CBDRA members to sign up. I currently use an Apple phone so I would be looking for guest instructor to assist me with our android phone users.
The topics of interest will include basic texting, and attaching photos, email is also a great tool that is under used so you will also learn how to email or even create albums of photos. Don't be discouraged cause if there is enough interest I will attempt to help everyone that asks.
First class will be this Saturday at 10:00am. So if you’re a CBDRA member and you live within range you’re invited to sign up and hopefully we can improve your understanding of your phone. I estimate the first class will be about 90 minutes. There will be no fees but you will need to bring your cell phone along. To register just call 90two 3twotwo 21seven1 and class size could vary depending on the interest in the project.
Now, I selected several photos from the September 14-15th event from last year at Cape Breton Dragway. Please enjoy and share the photos as you desire.
Also, the closing date for pit spot renewal in going to happen on Thursday April 15th. This would be a good time to alert your race buddy so he doesn't miss out. That's my presentation for today, but don't forget to play safe and have fun.
