Welcome to edition #803, and as we begin to prepare for whatever this summer brings us, I’ve been thinking about a few items of interest for our drag racing community members. There are so many factors that go into any persons drag racing program and each one has their own unique preferences. It is a similar deal for the organizers of drag racing events. Just the scale is different. As you can likely recall, last season was like no other and because of the gathering restrictions, we had to adapt an on-line registration. It was not easy but we really appreciated the way our racing community supported the efforts. After all we do share similar ideals, to present a drag racing program as per some sort of schedule. At Cape Breton Dragway, the goal as always, is to protect our staff, racers, crew-persons, and their families while on site. Last summer, everyone had such a thirst for drag racing and those in attendance were more than happy to comply with the imposed rules. The online registration will also likely remain unchanged, and the attendance numbers will thus be determined by the Nova Scotia Department of Health guidelines at that time.
Last summer we also had the good fortune of an Atlantic Bubble but as we travel through our coldest days of winter, we’re seeing more areas experiencing problem outbreaks. It appears we’ve got some work to do before we can achieve that Bubble scenario once more.
Membership and Pit-Spots selections & renewals are continuing for anyone interested. Please be advised that with our continued developments there’s been some changes to our staging lanes and some pit spots. The bonus is with the additional new barriers there’s a couple of new spots available. Here’s the link to the schedule and info.
CAPE BRETON DRAGWAY UPDATE
Most of tonight’s photos came from the September 19, 2020 file at Cape Breton Dragway however our first photo shows some of our hard working membership that I captured a couple years back. Great people right there. Please share these around with friends, family, and any racing enthusiasts you might know.
That's my deal for this week, but don't forget to play safe and have fun.
