Well that was quite a weekend. It was also our first offical weekend of ownership and racing at the drag strip we all refer to as Cape Breton Dragway. As luck would have it, we also hosted our 12th Quick 16 Bracket Eliminator this weekend. The first thank you goes out to the weather gods, as the clear skies and "hot" temps continued through all three days as per the forecast. Special thanks go out for the tireless efforts from our track crew and tower staff, it really means the difference in getting these events done. Well done everyone.
Most of my photos today are from the Quick 16 portion of the event but I did managed to collect 2133 images.
Congrats to Brian Toombs for powering that '85 Corvette right into the winners circle. He's been having quite a summer at the controls and its worth noting, there was several NHRA Wally winners in competetion here. Brian qualified the BBC Corvette at 4.96 at 141.47mph which slotted him firmly into the #5 position.

Doug Forbes quickly became a fan favorite when he laid down a 4.377 and 163.23mph in his Miller Dragster. That run pushed him to the top of the class and number 1 qualifer.

In the finals, number 3 qualifier, Doug Wrathall had to settle for second place.

Thanks again at all participants and anybody that helped to turn this race into a reality. Well that's my deal for today but the racing action this coming weekend now shifts to Greenfield Dragway as many racers will perpare their setups for the fast approaching Downeast Nationals, August 9-10th at Miramichi.
Play safe and have fun.
