The final Trans World Distributing Atlantic Pro Tree event of the 2015 season held at Miramiche this past weekend lived up to it's billing with large fields of competitors in all classes and some tight excellent racing from all racers in competition. There were some world-class packages in all classes, as well as a run to the championship in the 10.90 Hot Rod class which left both the winner and runner up of the event separated by one point in the final points standings.
In the 8,90 class final, Jason MacNeil continued his season's dominance with another win over a hard-charging Chris O'Neil. Jason pretty much mopped the place up with the #1 qualifying position, and a consistent run of tight packages leading him to a third season victory for the season. Clearly the most dominant performance by any of our competitors this season.
In the 9.90 class, the class points leader entering the event, Glen MacLean, went out early in competition, leaving the door open for his competitors to close the gap in the season's points chase, but Glen's early season dominance proved too much too be capitalized on, and he emerged at the conclusion of the event as the 2015, and repeat, 9.90 class champion. In the final race of this event, old pro Vito Bosca held off a game Greg Powers for the event title.
In the 10.90 class, entering the event there were five competitors all within striking distance of the season's championship, but when the smoke had cleared, the finals featured the final two competitors remaining in the points chase to duke it out for the season's title, with the final result being Tony MacNeil's slim 1 point (!) victory over Greg Powers. Couldn't get much closer! This result was even more impressive when considering that Greg also finished a very competitive third place in the 9.90 class final standings for the season, utilizing the same vehicle for both classes. We've got some tough cookies competing in this series.
We would like to thank Rudy, Mark, Terry, and all of the hard-working staff for their assistance in providing us with an excellent facility and an extremely smooth running race operations to get this program in and done on Saturday when it seemed that Mother Nature was determined to halt it's progress. We would also at this time like to thank all of our other supporting tracks participating in the Pro Tree series. Your support and assistance is very much appreciated.
In closing, we would also like to thank our sponsors, without whom the Pro Tree series would not exist. Special Thanks to Bill Clarke and Trans World Distributing who have been our major supporter from the series' inception, and to all of our event and associate sponsors, a sincere 'Thank You' from series organizers and competitors alike.
Hopefully next season will be as competitive and exciting as the 2015 has been!
