Year End Awards and General Meeting

OK guys and gals, it’s been another great season of heads-up Pro-Tree racing. The series saw growth in its second season, with some of the best car counts ever. Before we hunker down for the long cold winter ahead, we have a few things to take care of. First of all, for those very well deserving individuals who came out on top, there are some awards to be presented. Secondly, a general meeting needs to be held to discuss the future of the series. So, on Saturday, November 09, 2013 we will do just that. It will be held in the meeting room of the Amsterdam Inn, 2550 Mountain Road, Moncton (next to the casino), from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A dinner will be provided and they have also set aside a block of rooms at a special rate for anyone wishing to make a night of it.

With that being said, we need an accurate count on how many will be attending the awards banquet, and how many may wish to stay over for the night so we can finalize the arrangements with the folks at the Amsterdam. We need to provide them with the final numbers by October 25th.

Bernie is out of town for a couple weeks, so please confirm to me if you will be attending the banquet, and also if you will be staying as well. You can either post here, or email me at directly at [e-mail]

Thanks to all that came out to the Pro Tree year end awards and GM. The day started with a passing of the proverbial torch, as Berny handed over the reins to Josh Goodwin for the 2014 season of the Atlantic Pro Tree series. A new Financial Director, Race Director and several Class Representatives were put in place to assist Josh in continuing to grow the series in 2014. The Class Reps will be the “GO TO” people on race day. Thanks to all those that stepped up to keep the series moving in a positive direction.

Finally, Berny was presented with a plaque and framed photograph, in appreciation for all his effort in getting this series off the ground. His vision, hard work and dedication have created a series for us to race in that has seen growth since its inception.

Thanks to everyone who attended the AGM and awards banquet last weekend. I hope that everyone enjoyed themselves as much as I did. It was extremely gratifying to see the level of support which was evident in wanting to see this series continue and grow, and I would like to personally thank each and every person who has stepped up to share the responsibilities in ensuring that it does so going forward. To all of our new executive members, I wish you the best of luck in the successful completion of your new duties, & look forward to an even bigger and better Pro Tree Series for the upcoming 2014 season!!!
