Well, The Holiday Season is upon us, & hopefully everyone will enjoy a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Remember, party hearty, but please don’t drink and drive. We would like to see all of you back on the starting-line again next season!
Speaking of next season, the last thing on anyone’s mind right now is probably anything related to racing, but the purpose of this note is to announce details of the first Atlantic Pro Tree Series meeting of the 2013 season to be held, again as last year, at the St. Hubert restaurant, located at 235 Carson Drive, Moncton, NB, Exit 6 off of the Trans Canada Highway, on Saturday, January 12th, at 11:00AM. This seems to be a reasonably centrally located location with easy access for everyone in the region. If weather becomes an issue, an announcement will be made on the Dragsite & the series Facebook page in advance indicating that the meeting will be postponed for one week.
This will be a very important meeting & I strongly urge that everyone involved in the series plan to attend. Last year was the inaugural formation of our series, and it set the ground work for future years. Was it a perfect effort? No, far from it. Was it successful? Hell Yes, Beyond our greatest expectations! Due to restraints in manpower, time, and a lack of history, many aspects of it’s formation and implementation were set in place in a necessarily streamlined fashion just to get it into operation quickly and efficiently, but the number and quality of competitors was outstanding, The support from sponsors was great, and the interaction with the track promoters was very good as well, and most importantly is that the spectators really seemed to like the idea of a heads-up show. Because of the positive initial season, we really feel as though we have a strong base from which to grow. For this reason, considering the upcoming season, there are a number of issues and proposed refinements which will require the input of all those competitors planning to compete in the series in 2013, ranging from race scheduling, class rules & regulations, qualifying procedures, points tabulation, and a number of other issues on the agenda which will hopefully serve to fine-tune the series, making it a better vehicle for racers, track operators, sponsors, & spectators alike from this point onward.
It has been very encouraging to receive a number of ongoing offers to assist in working to grow the series, and I thank each & every one who has offered their services. There will definitely be a position and/or a task available to anyone who wishes to participate, because in order to grow, the tasks and responsibilities associated with improving our series cannot be conducted as a one, two, or three man show.
There will also a number of competitor & sponsor presentations made as well during the upcoming meeting relating to the 2012 season, & I would ask that you attend to show solidarity & appreciation to these folks even if it is the only reason for your attendance.
In order to build the series to the next level, it is very important that we establish a solid base for the organization to grow & flourish, and for that to happen, we will need your help. By attending the meeting & letting us know where and how we should be progressing, the series should hit the bricks this summer bigger & better than last year. Without your support, it becomes a one-hit wonder..... so it is your choice, if you wish to see this series expand and grow, please plan to attend.
Thanks, And again, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!!!!!
