Well, despite all of that "racer optimism" we couldn't overcome Mother Nature's determination to rain on our parade!! With the final race of the ADRA and the Pro Tree Series scheduled for the weekend it was shaping up to be a great couple of days of racing if the weather had been nice. Hats off to all the racers who travelled many miles to come to Miramichi even with the sketchy weekend weather forecast!! I couldn't believe the amount of cars that rolled in from PEI and Nova Scotia on Friday and Saturday. They definitely outnumbered the New Brunswick car count, which is a little disappointing considering this is their home track. Rudy took a chance and gave us the opportunity to get the final ADRA race of the season in, but it was not to be. Congratulations to all the ADRA winners as well as the champions in the Pro Tree Series. There is still one final event in Miramichi, the Battle of the Corporations, in two weeks time. Let's hope for some sun so we can get a few more passes down the 1320 before a long winter!!!

With race #4 of the Pro Tree series cancelled due to the weather, the points standings for race #3 become our final points for the season. It was disappointing considering we had a very good field of .90's racers ready to do battle and gain some important points towards the points chase.
In Quick Rod, Trevor Cowie and Todd Chase, each with a win this season, remained tied at the top. Todd and Trevor agreed to settle it with a best 2 of 3 coin toss. Todd knew he was in trouble with Trevor's success in race #1, winning mutltiple coin tosses....lol. Trevor came out on top again, earning him the Quick Rod Champion jacket for 2012. Due to the tie, both Todd and Trevor will end up with a 1st place in points plaque for their efforts and will also each get two free passes to enter the Pro Tree series races next season.
Super Rod ended up being our smallest class at each event, but Berny is slowly getting some new racers to give it a shot. Kevin Lively started the season off with a win in Greenfield and it proved to be enough to stay out in front to take the title of Super Rod Champion for 2012. Kevin will also get the 1st place points plaque, the Champions jacket , and free entry into all four Pro Tree races in 2013.
The 10.90 class was popular among the racers with good car counts at all our events. The series organizer, Berny Corscadden, put his previous experience in this class to work, going to the finals and getting the win in the first event in Greenfield. He then went to the finals in PEI to give him enough points to stay out in front and become the 2012 Hot Rod Champion. Berny will also benefit from free entry to all four 2013 events, and receive a plaque and Champion jacket for his efforts.
The 2012 Pro Tree Series was a success, and plans are underway to include it as part of the racing schedule at all four tracks in 2013. I would like to say a big thank you to all participants who helped make our first season a success. There were some veterans of these classes, and some racers who had never tried this kind of racing, and there were lots of positive comments floating around. As always, this series would not have been possible without the support of our growing list of sponsors.
Thanks to all the sponsors and racers in 2012, if anyone has any feedback (positive or negative) feel free to let Berny or myself know. We are already looking forward to 2013!!!

Thanks for the season wrap-up Chris, & thanks again for all of your invaluable efforts through the season to make this series the success it has been for an inaugural effort. It certainly couldn't have been done without all of your hard work. I would also like to take a bit of time to thank a number of people behind the scenes this season who's efforts have gone largely unheralded, but are very much instrumental to the series' success as well. Thanks go out to Terry Hendrix for his great contribution of the series logo. Fantastic job....who knew that someone with all those muscles could be so talented?. Thanks to Gerard Bryden for his great trackside photography & support. Thanks to Gordon Chase of Blade Promotions for our banners & signs. Thanks to Don Phillips of Dragsite fame for all of his support, & for making us look good online. Thanks also goes out to Don Lavoie of Impression Promotions for his design & production of the series' plaques & decals, & finally, Thanks to Bruce, Jason, & all of the folks at ADRA who have provided assistance & guidance throughout the summer. Thanks as well to all of the maritime track operators who took on yet another series, and helped us work through our learning curve throughout the first season. I would like to think that we provided a meaningful addition to their programs, & I feel as though it will continue to improve from this point onward. It has been mentioned many times over the course of the season as well, but again, a huge Thank You to all of our sponsors this year for taking the leap of faith to support a fledgling organization. We could not have done it without you, & your invaluable assistance is greatly appreciated. Finally, Last, but certainly not least, Thanks again to all of the racers who competed in the series, both veterans and newcomers. We certainly hope to have everyone back again next season, & hope to have a bigger & better playground for to compete in!
