i was at the meeting and please correct me if iam wrong. I understood the bulk of the payouts would go the winner of king of the hill not the class winners as the rules show. I was counting dragsters' i listed 25 . may have missed some. of the 25 only 9 or 10 have stops /and of those only 3 or 4 travel to all the tracks. other than mdp 'looks like 4 or 5 cars in s/c and about the same in the other classes.not much of a payout for 50 bucks compared to 20 for a gamblers race .going to be hard to get cars to install throttle stops to pay over double and race for less than half . That is definitely a problem Jim, I thought the same thing. I think we have to round up a few sponsors so we can race for a little more than just the entry fees. Like you said, the ones without the setup to run .90 racing probably won't spend the money to get properly set up if the payout money isn't there. That is why the idea of a king of the hill was brought up with a large payout to win that. At least that way, the overall winner could walk away with a decent cheque. I guess we really don't know how the car counts will go until we get a few races in.

As you recall Jim, the original proposal presented was to have the class payouts represent a token amount of the entry receipts, & the bulk of the money pooled for a large payout to the king of the hill runoff between the class winners & r.u.'s, but that was voted down in favour of the updated method highlighted in the revisions. I guess that the reasoning was that since class sizes cannot be pre-determined, it was felt to be unfair to have a very large class of cars racing many rounds for the same money as a class with very few competitors. As it now stands, from the initial responses, the 8.90 class is very well represented, so I doubt that there will be any lack of racers competing in your class. As Chris said earlier, we are looking for some additional funding in order to make this work to the level which we are hoping, so I guess that it's time for the 'armchair quarterbacks' to also get involved, & step up to solicit some extra funding for the series to allow reasonable minimums for payouts in cases of small entry lists, since it's pretty much impossible to pre-determine class participation. The basic premise of this series was to provide seasoned competitors the opportunity to practice their game, as well as providing those new to this type of racing the chance to try it out. It will undoubtedly not fall into place without a few growing pains! If the payouts are an issue, may I again suggest that we all start beating the bushes to provide some additional sponsor support to help eliminate this as an issue. As the old saying goes, " Many hands make little work"

I guess bernie i must have missed that vote . I know we voted on 1 car to king of the hill not 2.cant remember the payouts being reversed. anyway why not start a poll to see how many racers are interested in each class and how many tracks they are going to. as far as a big field of s/c my numbers don't show that . i would not count 4 to 8 cars a big field
