I gave my betterhalf Gale Morgan the camera today and she took a bunch of pics. Because she is not a longtime drag racer like most of us she looks at it differently. To her it is more about the people than the cars, possibly because she sees how much I enjoy the socializing at the track.
Was the 40th anniversary weekend with a good turnout of people both longtime racers and new people for their fist trip here to Raceway Park.
There was some speeches made and a bunch of awards given out to a lot of deserving people.
One of the cool things that happened was a group shot of all the racers competing this weekend
What a good looking bunch. ;D ;D ;D
The main man at Raceway Park
Kevin Power, he did smile a lot over the weekend ;D ;D
Our great tech guy Greg Mitton, he does double duty of organizing the lanes during eliminations. Pretty darn good with a deck or cards for the random pairing stuff
Bet he didn't think that pose would end up for public viewing
The starter Luke Sequin
2 of the racers who jump in in a big way helping out at Raceway Park. Bruce Howatt on the left, Jody Gallant on the right
Just some pics
Carl Toombs on the left, Richard Boyd on the right hamming it up, Richard is so shy ;D ;D
Jim Green on the left, David MacKinnon center and yours truly. Heavy technical discussion (probably about who's turn to get coffee ;D ;D)
Very cool car that made it's debut this weekend, Reg Conrad, father of Brad Conrad who runs the brown Malibu wagon. This car was so retro and a very cool peice
Just a pic, thought the juxtapositionning of the door car and the dragsters made a nice shot (well it does not hurt it is my door car ;D ;D)
Photobucket is giving me fits about this pic, different computer and it still will not show up. Finally got the pic to show. Was it worth the work???
Weekend report tomorrow, I'm wiped and going to sleep
