,With the RWP Reunion coming up,we should try to remember how things were then.
Let's list the changes in 40 years. We all lined up and entered the track on race day! How does TECH compare to 40 yrs ago? All cars fit in a class determined by TECH inspector. How long to TECH a car? The classes were Stock Super Stock Modified Production. Altered Gas The HENRI 'J"was a Gasser Dave Mosher's car was B/MP Ray Birt had Cuda Super Fish All cars were weighed after a win. You actually set class records for the track. There were approx. 400 cars to tech!! All of the above is the way I remember. We were there 1971. Time Cards info was win/lose ET MPH Date Class( Sponser)Hand written.. Please enter the things you remember. I just remembered there were NO BR cars!! Bill Campbell

I certainly remember having to stop at the scales - that's how I found out my 1959 Ford ragtop weighed 3,578lbs. It was in L/S with a 225 HP 332 cube FE engine. I remember the weight vividly but not the ET - maybe mid 16s?

Do I remember the racer entrance up where the Stock Cars guys enter these days? That's where the biggest "night before" parties were in the 70's. I THINK I remember most of them LOL.

From the archives of Ed lol
Didn't miss a weekend the first 5 years they were open. On the tech note he remembers having a 67 Chevelle convertible 327/325hp 4 speed. Had a carter afb right off the showroom floor but tech man made him run modified production because of the carb! Said it had have the wcfb until he produced paperwork from GM that stated it was correct. The best part, he drove it there with 4.56 gears, and a spare 4 speed in the trunk!
