Actually the old 1/2 breed car was sold a few times, but now resides in Bridgewater and is owned by Kerry Oickle, and its new name is THUNDERSTUCK. Previous owners include Charles Cawdle, and Al Palmer.

hmmmm... kerry and the former owners must have done some serious renovations to convert the car to all camaro from it's former pontiac shape but i never looked that close at it........but i will now. and brian will be interested too.

now i had the great swami in my ear today, enlightening me on a mistake i made in the captions. the last pic shows the fairlane / torino of what i said was bill campbell, but swami tells me, if the pic is dated correct, then jerry o'leary was the owner in that pic. i stand corrected........................again, and will be again, and again, and again.

Hi, From what I understood, the McLean boys changed the quarters on the old Halfbreed car the year after they bought it to Camaro panels,(no side chrome ,and Pontiac side marker lights) . I have a picture of that car when it was about a year old,was OHC six in it originaly

Again, same car car, but silver,(one summer I thought i needed a change),without the Ben Pilla paint scheme. All the lettering on the original was done by my buddy Bruce Rundle, by hand, .....man that guy is good!

Just a note on the pictures.
In the Dick Purdy photo, that was if you can believe it,
before I owned the Fairlane.

This thread is SO popular we're just going to leave it in place and add to it as time goes by.
Feel free to add your own "oldies" or send them to us and we'll post them for you. Today we've
got part two from Jeff........



Wendell Howes at the wheel but this was originally built and owned by Bev
Morissey. This car made some of the wildest passes at RWP. Hit the throttle
and 3 or 4 bounces later set the course whether it was straight or headed for
the grass. This car did mow a lot of grass down in it's lifetime and I'm sure
it tested a lot of wives' nerves.


Summer 77 again. Now it looks like Bill Campbell's Fairlane but the number on
the window is 1969 E/SA and the grille looks a bit like a Torino grille. I
guess a lot can change in 33 years.


Now RWP has had some colorful people in its history and this is one of them.
The only difference is today he owns the track he is running on in this
photo from 1977. Mr congeniality K.G. POWER. About 3 years after this photo
was snapped he became a track owner along with Merrill Cronin.


Don't know anything on this car at all. I am sure the readers will help out.
**Correction on the Fairlane picture. It is Gerry O'Leary. Bill did not own
the car as of the date these were taken. Also the fourth picture in the
first group, of the lite tan colored Duster is owned by Rand Cook himself.
and I spelled his name right this time.......


Not sure on this one but the Chevy boys know for sure. Remember the 70's
were a turbulent time for some of us.


Rand thought they called the driver of this Duster "Grampie". In the
background is the "One More Time" Nova.


Now we have seen Norm Carson's Cuda already but note the spectators in the
background. I can't see my cooler but I bet I'm there somewhere enjoying the
racing while STILL a teenager.


Action SS/ Camaro summer of 1977.


Although this one is not real clear or from PEI it does have some
interesting things about it. It is also on the Pennfield group of pictures
from Facebook. Supposedly a former Ed Hamburger car then to Gary Reed and
then to Bob Dow. Where is it now I wonder....
Thanks to Rand Cook and Don Phillips for sharing these old photos and a
member of dragsite has offered to let me go through his old photo albums and
do a bunch more so stay tuned..........to be continued.

grampies duster was owned by chum bruce of kingston at that time and the action ss camaro was owned by fred thibeault of middleton. it is now owned by jeff kempton.
