actually i got this copy from colin newman and he no doubt got it from his father as there is a picture of a very young (19 years old) floyd inside. also has some good reading on the sour kraut car and others as well.

holey crap........... 1400 pics. just went through the first 400 and some old, and neat stuff.
now those jet cars, we feel the heat in pei and we are 100 plus feet away but under the tower and fireballs above it. not for this old dog for sure.
great stuff....................

Copied from a Facebook chat.  Just scored a huge stash of old drag racing pics. Sorting through them now separating out the local stuff from shots taken a national events, all from about the same era. The pics are from an old customer(Dean Couse) who worked at Bob McDonalds at the time. The blue L-88 67 Vette that figures prominently in the pics was his.

Found a few more pics from Maitland circa 1967. They show another Camaro sponsored by Bob McDonalds; this one is a red SS 375hp 396. Also among the first batch of pics is a third off-white Camaro with stripes on the hood and deck lid, rally wheels, plus the big open element air cleaner; this appears to be one one of the 602 first year Z/28's. s331.photobucket.com/user/spencerforhire_photo/slideshow/more%20Maitland |
