Well I was blessed to be at another awesome event at Miramichi Dragway this past weekend. A bunch of tight racin' and conditions were less than idea with lotsa heat and humidity. Water and sun-block were in huge demand for sure. I'm not sure where to begin with my story but from my perspective it went something like this . . .
On Friday morning I arrived at my start line position just in time to hear Bruce Howatt's salute to the hero's that saved his life one year ago. I consider myself so fortunate to have been there in time to have a good cry to start my weekend. My sunglasses did a fine job until the drips started happening. Seriously, they were all cries of joy and Bruce is an example of just how quickly any of our lives can change forever in only an instant. Here's a photo with their gold medals and trophies.
Now the photo file from this past weekend holds 5657 images that I have quickly cruised through and made some selections from. Sorry I can't process and post them all, but please remember you can request a photo and I'll try to track it down and share it for you. I think I have a heathly crop of "Race Planner" photos for this winter.
To get things lined up I will post the Friday winners from all 5 NHRA classes.
TOP SPORTSMAN/TOP DRAGSTER Doug Wrathall
SUPER STREET 10.90 Tony MacNeil
SUPER GAS 9.90 Benny Niesten
SUPER COMP 8.90 Mark Green
STOCK/SUPER-STOCK Dan Nickerson
Here are few other randoms photos from Friday.
Moving into Saturday's action, the 5 class winners are as follows . . .
TOP SPORTSMAN/TOP DRAGSTER Dany D'Anjou
SUPER STREET 10.90 Benny Niesten
SUPER GAS 9.90 Glenn MacLean
SUPER COMP 8.90 Glenn MacLean
STOCK/SUPER STOCK Brian Oakes
And here are a few more randoms from Saturday.
Sunday started with some on and off sprinkles but eventually the event was completed. Here are some photos I managed to collect before the first shower arrived.
The boys from the CAPE, their spirits were never dampened. LoL
I could go on for quite some time, but I have a heathly list to attend to. Also, we (the CBDRA) have a huge weekend of racing in Sydney with the arrival of the QUICK 16 Eliminator. Also the ADRA points series, the CBDRA points series as well there will be gamblers racing and time trials filling the time slots this weekend. Three days, FRIDAY SATURDAY & SUNDAY of action. The track will have teeth as Mr Pozzebon will present his full prep and will be spilling lotsa glue. Hope to see you there.
Play safe and have a fun week.
