Cape Breton Dragway
PRESS RELEASE: In keeping with the ever changing times, the hard working crew at Cape Breton Dragway are pleased to announce the launch of a new SMS messaging system. Great advancements like this happen because of great people and for the 2019 season, the SMS messaging system, is a gift to our drag strip from Tracy & Todd Chase. By its design, this system will enhance the overall experience for both racers and spectators. In an effort to keep the program moving as quickly and efficiently as possible on race day, we will be making use of this new system that will allow racers to receive updates (race ladders) via a text message.
In drag racing, one area that has been identified as an opportunity to streamline the program is the posting of race ladders for each class. With this SMS system, competitors will be able to receive the round pairings for their class directly to their phone. The system can also be used to provide any other pertinent information to the racer.
To opt in to receive the information, you simply have to text the correct keyword (see the list below) to 844-604-0157. For future reference, this number can then be added as a contact named Cape Breton Dragway (or whatever you prefer).

Please only opt in for information pertaining to your class.
Once you opt in, you should receive a message confirming you have signed up to receive alerts, a compliance message advising you how to opt out if you wish, and a message and asking you to reply with your race vehicle #.
That's it. On race day, you will automatically receive the info to your phone as soon as it becomes available.
Here are the special Cape Breton Dragway keywords, please take your time and make sure you type in the keyword for your class correctly. Also, please use only the one for your class:
cbsuperpro
cbpro
cbsportsman
cbbikesled
cbjuniordrag
cb1090

cb890
cbquick16
Text the appropriate keyword for the class you wish to sign up for to
844-604-0157.
So to begin, when you type in the keyword for your class, and hit send, within seconds you will be receive a copy of the 2019 Cape Breton Dragway event schedule. Other things such as event news or updates can also be sent to you by this system.
We have tested the system and believe it should help keep things moving on race day, however you the racer also play a part. Getting the pairings is only one piece of the equation. Getting paired up and to the lanes is the other. Please use the information to find your pairing and be ready to come to the lanes when called.
It's a new system, so any constructive feedback will always be welcomed.
Thanks again to Tracey & Todd for being such great supporters of Cape Breton Dragway and drag racing in Atlantic Canada. The folks at Cape Breton Dragway hope that everyone enjoys a safe and fun filled racing season in 2019!

Also, one of our regular viewers of MNP's has been going through some health issues so I'd like to send some best wishes and prayers to my good friend Jim Green and hope that things get sorted out quickly for him. Here's a little treat of some photos I had around of Jim and his altered hot-rod.
And finally tonight, the works continues at Cape Breton Dragway this week as the guys continue to cobble together our very unique drag strip. No racing this weekend but we will have a cast of volunteers preparing the facility of the June 21st test and tune which will be followed by the 1st points race on June 22 and 22rd. We are sure looking forward to seeing all the racers trackside once again.
Please feel free to share this information in whatever form of social media you frequent. We would like to reach as many racers as possible in a timely manner.
Play safe and have a fun week.
