well with it only being 1/8 mile instead of 1/4 mile it will be a good race but not as great as when those stockers make a full pass, love hearing them cross the stripe at 1320.

I agree but running 1/8 mile is sometimes safer for those cars. On shorter tracks some of the higher class Superstockers are not the easiest things to stop. For one they are usually much heavier than your typical S/Pro car and all of them except for some SS/GT FWD conversions have mostly stock suspensions up front. Some have even gone as far as leaving drum brakes on the front just to elimate that little bit of drag on the brakes. But Sam is right - there is no sweeter sound than those high RPM cars at full song right at the 1320 - especially those 283s.

well the 1/8 stuff some like but i am not one of them. if you see it from my perspective theres just not enough time between pairings to give accurate numbers and intro the next pair. and there are some out there with a sponsor list a miile long and i hear from some who don't hear them all every time. and the other part is i am old school and always refer to drag racing as 1/4 mile at a time. even now the professional classes i find a yawn because of the 1000' runs. i'll retire when we are all doing 1/8, that will make some real happy. and as a tidbit for you readers today was john armstrong's first time doing 1/8. a man who's done as much racing as him and after a 20 or so year absence from R.W.P. and it's here he tries it for the first time.............whoda thunk it...

What a day yesterday in Oyster Bed! We had 21 Stockers and Super Stockers show up to battle it out for Race 2 honours. I'll relay all the details in my race report later this weekend, but I will tell you that we had a first time winner; Jack Keirstead! Congrats to Jack, and stay tuned!
