Do you have CAA? ;D
I guess that gets it home but doesn't fix it if it breaks......

Hey guys, I'll bite.. What, if anything can be done to have a 7.5 chev hold up to a LS1/t56 on a hard launch? I've got a cover with cap pre load and moser hardened axles with a Torsen posi and a new gear set. If I could reasonably assure the rear/axles was going to survive, I'd give it a go. As the car is a cruiser, I'm not going to start cutting it up to make a lighter weight. So it would be over the C/PS weight with ease. It's a 2000 Camaro SS. I've already destroyed an axle and carrier on launch with drag radials on a 4k launch.. That 7.5" rear is a challenge to keep alive for sure. From your description you've already done pretty much everything I might suggest. The LS forums on the Internet may suggest other stuff that you can do to the 7.5", but in my opinion the only real solution is to upgrade to a bolt-in 12 bolt rearend, an allowable change under Pure Stock rules, which say: "May upgrade to stronger corporate housing as long as unit fits in stock location and maintains original width." The biggest drawback to this is that it is expensive! Moser, Strange and others offer a 12 bolt housing with the torque arm mounting pad cast into the pumpkin, making them a bolt-in for your Camaro. Best of Luck! It'd be great to see you able to run your car in Pure Stock and take part in our races.

CAA might be the ticket!! LOL
Yeah, I looked into the required 12 bolt upgrade - it's a sting I can't justify right at the moment - besides as my wife reminds me - it's her car!! LOL
I've got the car down the 1/4 at 107mph, with no traction, it ran a 13.4.. I'm sure it was on a mid 12 pass when it did get traction, but it barely made it out of the stage beams!! Obviously, if I were to put it in C/PS, it would have to run below the 12.75 or I'd have to be some lucky making all my competetors that nervous they'd redlight!! LOL But does a time slower than that eliminate you from competition? IE - the car runs 12.80..
Thanks

You have to dial at least as quick as the Index to run Stock, so if your car runs 12.80 at best you'd still have to dial the 12.75 Index. In the past we've had a few of our racers do that when they first got their cars together and before they were dialed in. I believe at least one even won a round that way, but you're at a disadvantage for sure.
