Yep, I noticed the Super Stocker running Stock. The new cars are awesome, they just aren't Stockers in any sense of the word.

The new cars are awesome, they just aren't Stockers in any sense of the word. Todd, while I agree that the new purpose built factory cars should be in Super Stock and not Stock, the fact is that both NHRA and IHRA have designated them to be Stockers, which makes them legal by their rules, and that's what counts as it's their sandbox. The original purpose of this thread was the same as when I posted a link to the Cobra Jet build video a while back: to point out that the factories are back into drag racing in a big way. The controversy of whether they should be classed as a Stocker or a Super Stocker is already covered in dozens of lengthy posts on other racing sites, so there's probably no value in beating that dead horse even more on this site.

Don't be hatin' Kelly, Mopar will step up some day lol. thats kinda funny sam,................ at least the challenger has a sillouete like the cars from the 70's and is plenty potent in its factory delivered form. the cobra-jet and copo are purpose built race cars as is the drag-pac challengers but the dodge option list i think is considerably shorter and the bowtie boys waited to see who had what before deciding that all those options were "factory installed" . best way to settle this is visit the 3 different dealers and get one off the lot and bag the crap out of them on the strip. and i mean a ss craparo, a rustang, and a challenged car. that would be a better example of STOCK.

Jeff been there, done that with the Mustang. Bone stock automatic, 2011 5.0L, stock tires, did not even drop the tire pressures, best run was 12.77 at 113 mph in Greenfield. No programming chips so I mean bone stock! OK guys bring it on. What will the Camaro and Challenger run and I don't mean the tuner versions cause then I would have to go get a 650HP Gt500 Mustang?
