Looking at the above final points totals, a couple of things come to mind:
- Fred Thibeault did a pretty convincing impersonation of NHRA Pro driver Cory McClenathon, whose decision to skip the Sanair race in 1992 cost him the Top Fuel Championship, when he lost by less than the appearance points that he would have received by just showing up. Either that or just one more round win would have done the trick. No wonder Malcolm was nervous!
- Four of our top six points earners missed one of the three races. If they had attended every race then the final outcome may have been much different....or maybe not!
- Twenty racers in total participated in at least one of our races this year. At least six more racers in the Maritimes have cars ready to race but for a variety of reasons could not make it out. Another three or four cars are in the late stages of construction and should be ready for next year. Things are indeed looking promising for an even bigger and better 2011 Challenge!
