Just wondering if theres any interest in having a travelling S/SS Series in the maritimes like there used to be. Class racing seems to be making a bit of a comeback in the area, I think it would be great to have a race at each of the 4 tracks if possible!

Going from discussions I have had with Kevin on the subject he is interested but not on the terms he was given previously. He would probably be willing to run another race on Sat that was run by those racers but 100% payback as was the previous terms would not be acceptable.

every once in awhile gerry clow is in town, and stops by to ...........enlighten me on the maritime scene. i will, if you want, send him over to your shop and he can discuss another series with you. you ford guys get along with each other, and you can be the referee between him and kevin. ;D ;D i know another stock superstock series would be good. theres lots of cars to make a good show.

Just out of curiousity, how about if we create a list here of all the local racers who run a Stock/Super Stock legal combo? Include name, town, car type, and class. For example:
Bruce Riley, Minesville, NS - '71 Chevelle - SS/EA Fred Thibault, Wilmot, NS - '69 Camaro - A/SA John Armstrong, Malvern Square, NS - '69 Corvette - SS/AA Bill Sheppard, Lakeside, NS - '73 Duster - H/SA Kelly MacKay, Dartmouth, NS - '72 Demon - G/SA
I wonder how many local Stk/SS cars currently exist that are ready to race in class legal trim? I'd love to see a series resurrected, but I think it'd need at least 16 cars running each event to be marketable to the tracks. Even so, it'll have to pay it's own way and the tracks will have to be convinced of the benefits of adding another item to their workload.
By the way, the above list was off the top of my head as an example only, I know of others but don't know some of their details such as class or hometown.....feel free to correct any mistakes in the above while adding additional names!

I hear theres some new cars coming soon too, 1 i know will be out this year, not sure of the other 2
Here's some others for the list Malcolm London 81 Malibu L/SA Bill Campbell Ford Fairlane E/SA Gerry Clow Ford Mustang D/SA Wayne Deveaux Olds Starfire GT/CA Jody Noble 65 Chevelle k/S Terry Knapper 78 Camaro I/S Jack Keirstead 78 Nova K/SA Rick Ryan 69 Kingswood Q/SA Blair Macdonald 86 Camaro GT/something Billy Ervin 84 Camaro GT/AA Billy' Son, 69 Nova C/SA Harpers 1980 Mirada SS/?A Ray Ingram 69 Chevelle H/CM Howes Family, 3-4 Cars
So that makes 22, May be forgetting some, plus the new cars coming. Of course it is unlikely to get all them together but d**n it would be great!

Thanks for the info Chris. Here's the expanded list.

Maybe someone can help by providing any additional names or the additional info to fill in the blanks. Having the addresses would be interesting to know just to see where class racing is the strongest in the Maritimes.
Looking at the names, it appears to me that at least 8 of the 22 listed are seldom raced locally. Gary & Jeremy Keans are building a stocker and I'm sure we'll see a lot of it, but that still only makes 14 regulars. As not all would attend all races, my guess is that you're back to under 10 cars per event, which in my opinion isn't enough to make it fly. Are there any other cars not included in the above list? I understand that Phil Archibauld is living and racing out west. What happened to all the PEI class racers from days past (Louis Smith and others?)

I've now added Greg's name, and guessed at the year of his Firebird and the class he runs. He should definitely be counted among the guys who are active racers locally.
Any others that I've missed? Vince Hazel's Camaro has now been converted to bracket class, correct? Where is the old U/SA wagon formerly owned by Ken Packham? Is Doug Armstrong still planning to build a Chevy II stocker?
