For this edition of SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SUNDAY! thanks to Jeff Rhodenizer we've got some pics from yesteryear.
Photos are around the mid to late seventies and courtesy of Rand Cooke @ Capital auto supply in
Charlottetown - comments by Jeff.
Everyone feel free to send your old pics for future editions of this feature - If we get enough
of them we'll do it again - Don
This is another of the late glennie coles car as was "the teaser" first
one.
Left lane is Doug Constable in his "ryans dream" car. Right lane Gary
Lowther in "christians choice" nova. Gary ran the service station in
Cavendish PEI and the car was always there.
Another of Glennie's Dusters. This one ran as a stocker and the other two
were SS/IA cars I think.
No info on this car other than photo taken summer 1977
For the Buick lovers. Bev Morissey's E/SA Gran Sport at Sackville I think.
No explanation needed here. SS/AA Norm Carson's Cuda taken in 1978
Glennie Coles SS/IA in the left and I don't know the right side........ but
I should.
Gary MacEacherns 71 charger ran g/gas. this car was for sale last summer at
the atlantic nationals and was still in very good condition. gary runs the
same number today #1258
This is the car of Doug Constable named after his nephew who was killed at
the track many years ago. This car is now raced by John Aiten and was also
raced by Joe Casey as the pink lady car.
The "I don't know, west royalty esso car" is Goops Woolridge. And yes thats
his offical name. Can't help with the Duster.
This is the Brian Chandler "Halfbreed" car. Camaro front clip on a Firebird
body. In the background 2 Glennie Coles cars.
From the summer of 77 Rand Cooke says this was Dick Purdy's Daddys Toy car.
Bill Campbell in the left lane and Dick Purdy in the right. Summer of 77. Please
note all these photos are courtsy of Rand Cooke and his wife Patsy who run
Capital Auto Supply.
